Increasingly scarce natural gas should be reserved for heating homes, not pools. For every gas pool heater HEAT SIPHON replaces or eliminates, millions of BTU's of natural gas are saved for home heating.

75% of the nations electricity is generated by nuclear, hydro or coal, which are either abundant or inexhaustible. Since HEAT SIPHON uses only electricity, it consumes only sustainable resources while it conserves already scarce and expensive fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas and propane.

Heat Siphon only needs ONE BTU of Electricity to MOVE 5 or 6 BTU's of HEAT to your pool (500% to 600% efficient). The electricity that HEAT SIPHON uses is supplied from the electric power plant which burns 2.5 BTU's of fossil fuel to generate Heat Siphon's 1 BTU of electricity. Based on current power plant technology it also makes 236 mg of Carbon Dioxide in the process.

HEAT SIPHON FAST FACTS - According to the US Dept of Energy (DOE), the average US Coal Fired Electric Power Plant has a 38% conversion efficiency. The DOE FutureGen R&D Project is building a prototype coal fired power plant which will have a 60% efficiency with ZERO CO2 Emissions. Partners include China, India and Korea and several major US electric power and coal producers. The Futuregen plant is scheduled to be operational by 2012. IN THE FUTURE HEAT SIPHON COULD SAVE almost 70% of CO2 emissions.
